Audrey & Adam’s Beautiful Backyard Wedding

Audrey & Adam’s Virginia Beach backyard wedding was a dream!

Let me tell you a little bit about Audrey & Adam because I just love these two. I actually first met Audrey when she was a 9th grader at Ocean Lakes! She’s so amazing and ambitious, and I’ve enjoyed catching up with her and getting to know Adam, too.

They have the sweetest love story. They met in February 2012 after they were recruited for the UVA track team. Throughout that spring, they kept in touch, sending mix CDs (aw!!) and getting together at track meets. Adam surprised Audrey by asking her out on their first date… Ocean Lakes prom! Before prom, they took photos in Audrey’s backyard where six years later, to the day, I got to take their wedding photos. Isn’t that the best??

There’s something so intimate and special about a backyard wedding. The waterfront home was gorgeous and had the most beautiful flowers everywhere you turned. There were hydrangeas for days! The wedding had a lot of beautiful and fun details, too. The floral wedding arch was such a lovely frame for their ceremony, and there was a great surprise Chipotle grooms cake.  Adam’s reaction seeing the cake was awesome.  Oh, and all the different color bridesmaid dresses looked incredible.  I loved seeing a few familiar faces during the reception, so many OL grads who are now all grown up and doing amazing things.

I had the best time shooting Audrey & Adam’s day. Congratulations!!
