Hiring, Messy Routines, and Creative Brainstorming: The Q&A Episode

Thanks to Instagram’s newest feature, this week I’m answering YOUR questions. You guys had some great questions and I really enjoyed digging into this Q&A.

Finding Your Team

When it comes to hiring my team, I’ve tried a couple of different strategies, but what has worked best for me is finding people who are already within my community. Don’t overlook those people in your community, even if they don’t necessarily have the experience you’re looking for. If you can focus on their work ethic and their ability to blend into your core values, that’s what has been a gamechanger for me.

Messy Routines

I couldn’t help but laugh when I was asked the question about my routine! It’s a little bit of a mess! You’ll have to listen to the podcast for the details, but I’m trying to balance this crazy Henson home life with my business life. My routine is always changing and really requires me to give myself so much grace – the routine is not always gonna be perfect!

Make Time for Brainstorming

I love this question! The reality is that I have to create intentional time when I’m not brainstorming. The most important thing is to schedule time to turn off the noise, whether that’s my phone or my computer. Your creative muscles are just like anything else, though. You have to give yourself the time to be creative so you can stretch those muscles. The more you plan creativity into your day, the easier it will become. There’s something so rewarding about having a creative idea and acting on it.

Takeaways

  • Look for people who are already in your community when you’re hiring your team.
  • Routines are always evolving. Give yourself grace!
  • Make time to stretch those creative muscles and make time for brainstorming. It’s so important.
