There are a million things I loved about my own wedding. I know I have shared pictures on here before…. but today I wanted to focus on a few of the DIY details that I loved from our Beach wedding. I did a ton of them myself, and I had friends and family help too. Mark and I paid for our own wedding, so we were definitely on a smaller budget. Our wedding was perfect in every way, it was a big celebration with corn hole, beach swims, and day drinking. It was not fancy, but it was just right for our personalities and our love! All images I’m sharing are perfectly captured by Amanda Hedgepeth circa May 2012!
The DIY flower-girl buckets. I made these myself, I just found two plain silver buckets, painted them blue, then white, then sanded some of the white away. I attached blue/yellow plaid paper to the bottom and inside that matched our colors and the tan raffia to the handle which my bridesmaids later attached flowers to the side for the perfect touch.
The Centerpieces. Made my incredibly talented mother, who also owns her own business. You can check out her website here. She does amazing beachy pottery and her barnacle glaze is to die for! They were perfect and made great gifts as well. We even left one behind in the beach house when we signed the guest book. 🙂
The Bouquets. OMG I love these. Two of my bridemaids put them together by hand and we picked out the flowers together at Norfolk Wholesale Florist. This was affordable and beautiful. Luckily I had talented friends to help because I’m not so great with flowers! Thanks Rachel and Lindsay!!!
The “Here Comes The Bride” Sign. I made this myself out of two pieces of wood and hinges…Again I painted blue, then white, then sanded away some of the white. I did have help with the text because my handwriting is not awesome. One of my sweet students did that for me!
Personal decor and touches in the house. Because we rented a beach house we brought tons of pictures and put them up through out the house. We also brought the net and a few items to give the home our personal touch.
Tie Clips for the groom and groomsmen. These were so adorable and I love seeing them in all the pictures. I didn’t hand make them but we found them in this adorable Etsy Shop called Purely Page.
Paper Lanterns. These were so fun and looked adorable. Again, so glad I had my friends there to help hang them! I bought them in bulk and then bought LED lights separately so they could shine at night.
From Beer Koozies to Bubbles I put used rubber stamps to decorate all kinds of things. our to/from tags on gifts, Flip Flop tags, all kinds of details were decorated with this DIY stamp approach. So easy, simple, and affordable!
You know I Love some DIY goodness. There are so many other details from my wedding that I Loved! I will have to save those for another post.
I hope you enjoyed a few of these. Feel free to post comments or questions! As always, thanks for stopping by.
