Ashley and Sean were my giveaway winners! When I reached 500 fans I decided to do a giveaway, but I wanted it to really mean something. Rather than just go out and shoot a session for free, I wanted to select a winner that was special, I wanted to feel excited about shooting it, and I wanted to bless someone with a gift. So long story short, Ashely’s coworker, Seana, nominated them. This is the wonderful letter she wrote:
“Hello,
I have a member on my team that is 27 and will be married in November. She’s an incredible, energetic, enthusiastic and positive person. She and her fiance have not been able to have engagement photos done. I don’t think it’s in their budget, and they’re working super hard to fund their wedding themselves.
Ashley is a super giving person and her fiance shares that spirit. I am a single mom and have had car troubles that Ashley’s fiance has looked into and/or repaired for me out of the kindness of their hearts. She is always thinking of others, and how she can make them smile. She does small things like bring in a pack of animal print pens to share with coworkers who enjoy the prints to buying too cute to resist baby shoes for another team member’s newborn baby – just because.
Her fiance Sean is still in school at ODU, studying to become a mechanical engineer. They are originally from PA, and with the exception of Ashley’s aunt (with whom they live) they don’t have family down here.
Though Ashley is a bubbly, happy person, she also has some health problems. She has had 2 pacemakers placed in her 27 years. I think it would be an incredible gift to a very caring giving couple to have the chance to have nice engagement photos done without having to stress or worry about the cost – they do so much to help others, it would be nice to see them blessed!”
I had about 15 submissions and they were ALL wonderful. It was very hard to choose, everyone had amazing stories, and so many people out there have faced serious adversity, or loss. Some of the stories were so touching, it was SOOOOO much harder than I thought.
What I loved about Seana’s letter was that it was for a coworker, and that she wanted to give back to Ashley for being so kind. I have always talked about being a kind person, and doing acts of kindness for others. Ashley and Sean fit. Mark and I also paid for our wedding ourselves, so I know how hard that can be, and how each person that helps you along the way is such a blessing. I was happy to be one of those people for Ashley and Sean.
They are seriously one of the most IN LOVE and PLAYFUL couples I have ever worked with!!!! I’m sooooo glad I got to meet them. I also look forward to Seana’s free session in 2014 as a reward for HER act of kindness to nominate Ashley 🙂
