Caroline & Elke said “I do” on the adorable Kitty Hawk Pier in the Outer Banks, NC. I’m so incredibly full of emotion working on this wedding for many reasons. Caroline was a teammate of mine at ODU, even though I was a senior and she was a freshman, we instantly became great pals. The best part about our friendship is that we can always pick up where we left off like it has been no time at all. But to see Caroline, fully in her element, and SO incredibly happy was just perfection. I mean the girl didn’t stop smiling the ENTIRE day! I think she might be the happiest most smiling bride in history. And DUH because she got to marry Elke who is beautiful, fun, and such a great match for Care. The whole day was just happy tears, joy, and laughter…. oh and one heck of a party!
This is my first time photographing a same-sex wedding and I’m totally totally in love! I always love love love brides and I stay glued to them at my weddings… but TWO beautiful brides! It was photographer heaven! I’m such a believer that love is love, and these girls and their friends and families were simply amazing. I truly felt so lucky to be there, to capture the day, and I cry just looking at these images.
Oh, and the first look! AMAZING! Thanks to my killer 2nd shooter Heidi, we got it from both sides! So perfect. After the reception the girls went back to the beach house, changed into adorable white beach cover ups, and we got to do more pictures. I have such a soft spot for beach weddings so the last beachy touch made me so happy!
