Katie & Zack had a perfect classic and timeless nautical wedding at the Cavalier Yacht Club in Virginia Beach.   If you recall the weather report for September 26th, it called for rain and wind and all things crazy.  But let me tell you, their wedding day was gorgeous!  It barely sprinkled getting ready and then there was no more showers!   Zack and Katie buried a bottle of bourbon two weeks before the wedding, an old tradition to keep the rain away, and I have a feeling it worked!

Katie had an emotional first look with her dad and brother first, and then her first look with her groom!  I loved capturing all the emotion.   Oh and I can’t forget their dog Jamey!   A piece of Katie’s mothers dressed was used on her bouquet.  Katie and Zack literally “tied a knot” during their ceremony.   The bride and groom had a tiny wedding party and everything was so easy-going surrounded by family and friends.   And just like Mark and I, they cut their cake off to the side of the reception without even stopping the party.   Speaking of the party…. there was a FLASH MOB!  A total surprise for the couple, organized by their cousin.   I knew it was coming, but I didn’t really know what to expect, and it was awesome!   So fun!

Any anxiety I had for the weather went out the window as soon as I saw how happy and totally smitten this couple was on their perfect day!   It was a perfect day and I had the best time.   THANK YOU Katie and Zack for trusting me on your most important day!
