I’m so excited to introduce Heidi and Meghan on the blog! These girls are fabulous and I’m extremely, I mean EXTREMELY lucky to have them helping me with weddings this year. I was looking for certain qualities that would fit in well with my wedding days and these girls are everything I wanted an more! I wanted shooters that will love my brides like I do and that aren’t afraid to be on their feet the entire time. If you have met me then you know I’m extremely driven, committed, and HAPPY! These girls fit right in and I trust them fully. They are both crazy talented and I look forward to seeing their growth!

Heidi Calma
I first met Heidi just over a year ago. She was fresh and wide-eyed to learn anything and everything photography. Well now, a year later, I have never seen anyone improve so fast. Her pictures are insanely amazing. She has already shot 3 weddings with me and some of her images rocked my world!
Here are some fun facts about Heidi:
– What do you love about photography?
I love having the ability to preserve memories and emotions. When things get tough, I’ve always turned to pictures to remind me what is important, what makes me happy, and what I need to refocus on.
– What is your favorite food?
Rice pudding. Lol
– Your favorite part of a wedding day
The getting ready part is my favorite because there is so much interesting anticipation and energy. Those are the last moments before so many people’s lives change forever! How could they not be filled with such an interesting combination of emotions?
– Things that make you laugh
This is hard too! I laugh a lot. My kids always make me laugh. Jim Gaffigan can make me laugh until I cry. My husband usually always has something completely random to add to a conversation that makes me giggle. Wine? That too. 🙂
– If you could only shop in one store for clothes where would it be?
Lol okay this is going to sound crazy but The Great Outdoor Provision Company or REI or Blue Ridge Mountain Sports. The casual outdoorsy, sporty, and slightly hippie feeling style is what I feel really comfortable in. Patagonia or Toad and Co skirts and dresses!
– What makes you feel successful?
Hard one!! I think seeing growth in whatever I pursue. I tend to demand perfection of myself, so I often get mired in feeling disappointed in myself and my results. It’s been a good lesson to learn that sometimes growth is a more important indicator of success vs. simply being the best or being amazing. I mean I want to be amazing but seeing the growth and embracing that discomfort over the past year has been a huge lesson for me.
– Anything else you love?
Training for triathlons especially long course- half-ironman distance is my favorite. Running on trails or at the beach. I also love baking, writing, and reading.

Meghan Ippoliti
Meghan and I met in some photography groups a while back. But I really got to know her at Amanda Hedgepeth‘s Winter Workshop. We had the best time and I knew I was going to love her. We shoot our first wedding together tomorrow and I’m just so excited! Meghan has two adorable boys and I love hearing her crazy stories about them. Meghan is so sweet with the best since of humor, her work is also totally incredible.

– What do you love about photography?
It’s hard for me to narrow down all the reasons that I love photography. It’s been a really personal journey that has helped remind me of the beauty of the everyday; from the moments that seem sort ordinary that we are sure to forget years from now…to the most important moments in our lives that we never want to forget.
– What is your favorite food?
Tortilla chips and guacamole ALL THE WAY. All day every day if I could.
– Your favorite part of a wedding day
My favorite part of a wedding day is right after the bride and groom walk down the aisle together and have that moment together that they realize they’re ACTUALLY MARRIED! I just love the pure joy and excitement they have at that moment. And of course, my second favorite part of a wedding day is the mother/son dance; with two little boys at home, I ALWAYS end up crying.
– Things that make you laugh
-the tv show the office, with out fail always makes me laugh til i snort! oops.
– If you could only shop in one store for clothes where would it be?
If funds were not an issue, then I would most definitely only buy my clothing at Lulu lemon. If I could live in yoga pants, I would.
– What makes you feel successful?
As corny as it sounds, the support that my husband gives me makes me feel successful. He always lifts me up and pushes me forward.
– Anything else you love?
If wine drinking was considered a hobby, which i totally think it is, then yes. that’s my hobby and a favorite at that!
