So a few months ago Sharon Elizabeth Photography ran an add on Facebook for beauty sessions.    I HAD to take advantage of this deal she had going on…. I mean this is a photographer I have been following since I first picked up my DSLR.   It was so long ago I wish I could remember who sent me there or how I ended up on her page…. but I can’t remember.   But I do know that her work spoke to me, it is seriously like beautiful art.   All I could think is how beautiful her work must look on canvases….. I would just stare at it…. I love it.    There is something magical in her style… truly unique.

I couldn’t believe I was going to get in front of her camera.    AND she was going to provide a hair and make up artist too…. OMG ME????     I enjoy looking nice, but I really never take the time to really do much more than mascara and a little powder.    And my hair?   yeah, ponytail or a braid 90% of the time!   So this was very outside my normal comfort zone lol!

I really believe that if you truly 100% are invested in this industry then we must all practice what we preach and invest in photographers as well.    Yes I love trading, and going to hang outs, and practicing, that will never get old.    But I mean really invest in the whole experience as a client.    I wanted to get out, and really get the full experience!   Not to mention the chance to hang out with Sharon and support a photographer I admire so much.

I will say that I had an absolute blast.   I wish that I had made plans after because I just felt pretty, what a great feeling.   We laughed the entire time, I’m pretty sure I laughed so hard I was crying a few times.    I hope I was not too awkward and star-struck…. but I enjoyed every minute.    Sharon’s blogs, and her fierce no-non-sense leadership has really been a huge part in my growth.   She has a great business sense, an athletic background, and she loves helping and teaching other photographers.   She sets a great example.     I’m so excited for a mentoring session with her in January!
