Our Christmas Day

This year Mark and I went to Durham for Christmas eve and Christmas morning.  We then drove back up here to VB to have Christmas with his family.  Talk about a busy day, but it was perfect and we had a blast.   I can’t thank my family enough for an amazing Christmas as always.  My mother always made Christmas so special growing up, I know that is why I have so much holiday spirit today.

So Mark got me a NEW CAMERA!!!! He totally surprised me with the Nikon D7000.   It was just the upgrade I needed!    Yes the pictures are bigger and better, but most importantly it gives me all the settings set up in a way that I can change my 4 essentials SO much faster!  I can’t get over how much easier it is for me using all manual settings.   With my baby d3000, I felt like I had to go through so many clicks to change one thing.   After a ton of research I knew this upgrade would be the most bang for my buck, but I had no idea Mark was going to take care of that for me 🙂  I love it so much, it just feels so good in my hands, I didn’t put it down the rest of the day.  Now I can focus on getting more lenses, whooohooo!    Mark also told me we could start house shopping, that is SO VERY exciting!

So I had my camera charged and working by the time we were done eating lunch.  I took the opportunity to practice some and take some family photos.   I learned the new camera in no time, and I’m SO excited about it. I even used the self timer so I could jump in the group shot!  Here are a few shots from throughout the day.   My husband is amazing, and spoiled me pretty good 🙂
