So I can’t believe it has been almost a year since we launched my promo video! This was such an incredible labor of love last summer! I keep seeing all the fun BTS images popping up in my timehop app, and the memories are flooded back to my mind. I wrote a great blog post about WHY I decided to make a promo video… but I figured a year later would be a great time to reflect on how I feel about it now.
I’m still 100% happy with my investment! Here are a few things I’m happy with and the one tiny little thing that makes a promo video difficult.
-I’m attracting my ideal client! Seriously my 2015 weddings have ALL been amazing and I couldn’t be happier. All but one were booked AFTER the launch of my promo video.
-It is easier for visitors on my site to connect with me. Reading takes time, and energy, watching a video is what most people prefer these days. (I know I do)
-As I’m launching the Entrepreneur Coaching division of my business… the promo video fits right in! All the “finding the job of my dreams” part of the video was totally intentional with my long-term plans in mind. I feel like the message in my video is truly timeless… and true of course!
-The only tricky part, looking back on the video, is that my style as a photographer has really evolved and improved in the last year. Most photographers will grow significantly in a year…. and I’m sure I will grow even more over the next few years. My favorite images of 2014, will not always be my favorite images… But that is okay! Growing is part of the process and sometimes we have to embrace that!
I always say that if you are going to put a significant amount of money into marketing, I highly recommend a video of some kind. Something that aligns with your style, and will make your business look its best. I’m so happy with my decision and if I had endless money I would do one every year 🙂 hehe.
A million thanks to The Girl Tyler for such an awesome video!
