Sami, Jamie, and I decided to get together for lunch and just to practice shooting. I have known Sami, but I met Jamie at Amanda Hedgepeth’s Q & A sessions. We quickly bonded and were chatting away. So obviously the 3 of us just had the best time together. When I started shooting a few months ago, I had no idea that there was this whole world of photographers to network with. That has honestly been one of my favorite parts. I love getting to know people who have the same passion; and learning so much from other people’s strengths.
While we were shooting it was so nice to be able to slow down and really break each shoot down. I tried 3 different WB settings on one frame, slowing down!…. that is what learning is all about. We had so much fun creating poses, finding spots, and taking turns in the lime light haha. I love that these girls didn’t think I was crazy when I got down in the dirt or crawled on the ground. They were right there with me!
The next cool thing about this shoot is that I edited the whole thing in Lightroom. Thanks to Christmas break I had time to watch tutorials and learn it, and I could take a LONG time practicing. I can already tell that my workflow is going to speed up. I’m so excited about the switch. I can throw the image into photoshop for a quick action with out even moving it out of lightroom, its pretty cool. I also really liked flagging and staring my images to help with organization. Everyone was right, Lightroom is awesome!
So here are some of my favorite shots from today….. feel free to leave me some feedback on the edits, too much? not enough? I always wonder if my colors look crazy to other people haha. Yay lightroom and learning new stuff!!
