I was so honored to photograph James and Becky’s wedding day at the Mimosa Farm in Cape Charles and these two and their families could not have been more welcoming.
This sweet couple met while they were both waiting tables at a restaurant in Roanoke, VA. After working countless busy shifts together and talking more and more, James finally asked Becky out and the rest is history. They ended up moving to the Eastern Shore of Virginia for work and over the next 3 1/2 years made a new life together. On a trip back to Roanoke, James proposed at the Star Overlook in Roanoke. Such a romantic spot for a proposal!
You know that I love weddings with personal details and family heirlooms. Becky and James were definitely my kind of people! Their wedding was full of little details that reflected their families and their sweet love story. What I loved most were all the details that were representative of other family weddings and relationships that had come before. Becky wore her great grandmother’s ring that has been passed down through generations. Becky’s mom hand-painted Becky’s beautiful shoes and there was a piece of her wedding dress tied around the wedding bouquet. Her mother’s necklace has her grandfather’s birthstone in it, custom made wine labels, corn hole boards and more!
The venue was stunning! Mimosa Farm is one of my favorite wedding venues on the Eastern Shore and I was so excited to shoot there again.
What I really loved about James and Becky’s wedding was how sweet and loving their entire families were. I felt so welcome and had such a good time getting to know everyone. Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your special day! Enjoy your honeymoon!
