I’m easing my way back into work after a short but wonderful maternity leave.    I can not believe our sweet Maddison is three weeks old!

I did something differently this time around.   I wanted to put my camera down and really soak in moments, especially the moment where Gracie met her sister for the first time.    I asked my wonderful friend Heidi if she would want to come to the hospital and capture these special moments so that I could fully be in the moment.   It was SO worth it!!!  I love the images so much and it was so great to trust someone else and not worry about capturing everything myself.   I’m so incredibly glad that I did this and so grateful for Heidi and her beautiful images!

So now for the world to meet our sweet girl.  Maddison Parker Henson.   Strong family names for a strong and healthy girl.   Maddison came almost a week late, but she was a perfect 7 lb 13 oz.   We didn’t know the sex ahead of time, so the surprise moment finding out she was a girl was so awesome.    We had a feeling it was a girl, and Gracie would constantly say “no boys” when we asked her to guess boy or girl.   We would have been happy either way, but of course we are thrilled to have sisters.  Maddison is everything we could have dreamed of and I can’t wait to watch her grow!

Gracie was so sweet meeting Maddison for the first time.   Seeing her face come around the corner was priceless.  She entered the room slowly and walked over to the bed.  She reached out her hands and said “Gracie hold the baby” I teared up…. it was such an adorable moment.  She crawled in the bed with us, held Maddison for the first time and the rest was history.   She is such a great big sister!

It is no secret that Maddison looks a lot like her sister.  But I love finding all their differences as she grows.  I know that part is only going to get better.

Maddison this is just the beginning and Daddy and I are already so proud of you!   Welcome to the world sweet baby girl.
