So I know I have mentioned Holly from Just Dandy Events MANY times!   We do lots of projects together, and we talk daily about whats going on in our jobs and life.   We joke all the time about being vendor-soul-mates and #theadvenoursoflizandholly and all that good stuff!   But here’s the real deal…..  having someone you really love, a partner in crime, a real friend in the in the same industry can really be a game changer!   And here are the top reasons why!

– My long time friends can finally have a much-needed break of hearing me talk about my photography business 24/7… They are probably saying “Thank god she found someone else!”   haha

-Talking to photographers is great, but having someone in a different niche of the industry is a really great perspective, and there is no need for the techy talk or competition.

-She gets me.

-She lets me talk ALL the time about my crazy ideas, and she will tell me when they are crazy or when they are awesome, or when I need to SLOW DOWN.

-Talking about brides, weddings, and love stories never gets old.

-She’s fairly new and fresh in the industry as well, so I never feel scared, or judged, or engrossed in “the industry”…..yes it can be a scary place.

-She gets me.  Thank goodness, she listens to me.

-We don’t have to actually hang out in person to have the most awesome day.   We have actually shared wine over emails many a night.   Low maintenance friend…. CHECK!

-I feel appreciated.   I know that’s silly, but don’t we all love that?   She has a full and grateful heart that matches mine just right!   But don’t get it twisted, we can get mad vent just like anyone else!

-Yes that!  Having someone to vent to about a bad day or frustrating situation.

Those are just a few reasons why having such a great pal in the industry is awesome.   I know I was being silly, but in all seriousness….. It has really made a positive impact on my business AND my personal life.   Networking is a HUGE part of surviving in this industry, but it sometimes can turn into real friendships.   Meaningful friendships.

If you want to be successful at anything then surround yourself with people who make you better.   🙂   Love you Holly bug!  Thanks for being my person!
